The packaging design features a circular motif on the tag, which is printed using the letterpress technique. Additionally, the tag is made with traditional Japanese paper using the hot stamping method, adding an element of authenticity and craftsmanship to the overall aesthetic. The dimensions of the packaging are W80mm×D80mm×H210mm, ensuring a compact and convenient size for users to enjoy their bath salt.

Keiko Akatsuka's research for this design involved studying existing bath salts in the market and striving to create something truly unique. While bath salts are a common product, the challenge was to elevate them to a luxurious level and evoke the imagery of the moon effortlessly. The result is a design that exudes a sense of spirituality, energy, and power, providing users with a transformative bathing experience.

The SUMO-GEKKOYOKU bath salt allows individuals to immerse themselves in the energy of the earth, providing inspiration and relaxation. Its creation began in January 2015 in Tokyo and was completed in September of the same year. The design received the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2016, a testament to its outstanding creativity, technical excellence, and innovative approach.
